What does FIO stand for?
FIO is an acronym for The Foundation for Interwallet Operability. (Pronounced "fee-oh")
How does FIO work?
The FIO protocol allows for a human-readable alternative to using long alphanumeric blockchain addresses for cryptocurrency. FIO handles are a single identifier that eliminates the need to know a blockchain public address.
Does Xumm support FIO?
It sure does! Xumm will resolve any FIO handle to the appropriate XRPL account assigned to it. (We added support for FIO in Xumm v2.2.6)
Can you provide an example of how it works?
Of course. Check out this video.
Can I get my FIO handle via Xumm?
Currently Xumm offers FIO resolving, not handle claiming. Any FIO handle claimed elsewhere will work in Xumm (as a destination), but you can not register or claim your own FIO handle from within Xumm.
Any idea when I will be able to register/claim my FIO handle via Xumm?
Claiming FIO handles is not currently on our roadmap at this point but you can check out this site for more information on how to do it:
